Chemin de la belle étoile

On Friday, October 28, 2011, at 20:30, the Youth and Culture Center- Zouk Mikael vibrated tothe sound of the accordion. The French Institute of Jounieh, in collaboration with YCC – Zouk Mikael, presented to a full house “Chemin de la belle étoile” a show in which Sébastien Bertrand sings his story.

Alone with his accordion, two pending spots diffusing warm, clear and intimate light, he tells how at age 35, he decided to go to Beirut and return to the orphanage where his adoptive parents, from Vendée, came to find him and from whom he received the love of their culture and traditions.

The “Chemin de la belle étoile”, the name of the street where Sébastien Bertrand grew, is the tale of reunion and vibrant tribute to the leaders of orphanages, working in the shades who, without knowing it,trace the fate of thousands of abandoned children … that eventually meet up one day.

The evening, between tenderness and self-mockery, continued late into the night at YCC’s maginificent library, as the public, delighted and conquered, was invited to the signing of the artist’s book “Chemin de la belle étoile” published on the occasion of the 18 ° edition of the French book Fair in Beirut.
