Heidi Luosujärvi brings Finland to Zouk Mikaël

Part of the 17th International cultural festival of the Kulturzentrum, the Youth and Culture Center organized a magnificent concert in the Church of St. Doumit on Friday, August 5, 2011 interpreted by the Finnish accordionist Heidi Luosujärvi.

Under the patronage of the Honorary Consulate General of Finland , the musician toured to Ksara, Zouk Mikael, Amchit and Bhannes for four concerts.

Winner of numerous awards, Heidi Luosujärvi has already played in several European countries and has worked with many contemporary composers. She is currently perfecting herself at the University of the Arts Folkwang in Essen, Germany.

To the many music lovers and holidaymakers as well as loyal listeners of the concerts regularly organized by the Kulturzentrum and the Youth and Culture Center, the accordion virtuoso has proposed a very eclectic program, ranging from classics such as Bach and Scarlatti to composers of contemporary music, including Ayuo, Arne, Nordrhein or John Zorn, not to forget the more typically traditionalist accordion melodies such as waltzes and tangos from Argentina as well as Finland.

A brilliant musician that gives you the impression of being born with an accordion in her arms! This instrument is still little known in Lebanon and deserves to be played more often!
