May 5, 2011 – After participating in several collective exhibitions, Young painter Imad Abdel Sater held his first solo painting exhibition « Love the Lebanese Way » in collaboration with the Youth and Culture Center – Zouk Mikael, and the French Cultural Center – Jounieh at « Foyer de l’Artisan » an art gallery nearby Zouk Mikael’s Old Souk.
The modern exhibition was presented to the modern art lovers with a musical touch as Mezzo Soprano Micha Matta enchanted the visitors with the warmth and beauty of her voice.
Attended the inauguration Dr. Jorge Luis Jure Arnoletti, Ambassador of Uruguay to Lebanon, Mr. Joseph Vallano, representative of the French Cultural Mission, Mayor Nouhad Naufal and Municipal Council members Joseph Kmeid, Elie Zgheib, Habib Aoude and Dr. Maroun Massaad, as well as a large crowd of art lovers.
Youth and Culture Center Director Eliane Fersan stressed in her keynote on YCC’s role and mission in encouraging youth and arts initiatives, welcoming the ideas and propositions of talented and sophisticated artists.
Poet and writer Samar Nahed Hakim presented the two young artists and highlighted Imad’s sense of humor, which he managed to reflect in his paintings, and the warmth and suaveness of Micha’s voice as she performed Arabic and Western songs with elegance and grace.
Mr. Vallano lauded the originality of this cultural manifestation, which “entertained both the eye and the ear”, and thanked the Youth and Culture Center for his initiatives and encouraged both artists to pursue their artistic mission.
“Waiting”, “Deception”, “Insomnia” and “It All Begins With A Flower” are a sample of the 21 acrylic paintings exhibited in the gallery: they present a mix of exaggerated sadness, joy and humor accentuating the feelings of lovers in all love stages.
