On Wednesday December 2, 2009, former U.S. Ambassador to Austria Swanee Hunt held a roundtable with 10 State Alumni in the Youth and Culture Center in Zouk Mikael, Lebanon.
Eight women and two men, representing different groups in Lebanon, discussed the traditional barriers that Lebanese women are facing in making political progress. The attendees eloquently discussed the issues and suggested policy steps to rectify them.
Ambassador Hunt shared her expertise and experience in the field of women’sempowerment and highlighted the role of women in breaking those barriers. The alumni in attendance enjoyed Ambassador Hunt’s lecture, commenting that she was also a great listener.
